Acknowledgement

NSWMSC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands and elders, past and present of New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and other lands within the Commonwealth of Australia. It is on traditional lands on which NSW and ACT medical schools are built and on which teaching, learning and research practices occur. As representatives for NSW and ACT medical students, the Council’s position is that all indigenous people, as with all other people, should be treated with respect in the course of students’ and practitioners’ education and vocations.

Constitution

The NSWMSC Constitution provides the governance and organisational framework within which the Executive and Council operate.

It guides the work of NSWMSC and outlines:

Our vision, mission and organisational purpose
The roles and responsibilities of the Executive and Council
Election processes and governance requirements
Our annual priorities for events, representation and advocacy
The legal and procedural parameters of our work

The Constitution supports transparent, accountable and consistent decision-making across all areas of NSWMSC.
