Acknowledgement

NSWMSC acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands and elders, past and present of New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and other lands within the Commonwealth of Australia. It is on traditional lands on which NSW and ACT medical schools are built and on which teaching, learning and research practices occur. As representatives for NSW and ACT medical students, the Council’s position is that all indigenous people, as with all other people, should be treated with respect in the course of students’ and practitioners’ education and vocations.

Pre-Internship Social Night

The NSWMSC Pre-Internship Social Night brings together incoming interns before they begin their internship for an evening of connection for the transition into the medical workforce.

The event provides an opportunity for future interns to meet their new colleagues, connect with professional organisations and hear practical advice about beginning work as a doctor in NSW.

At the 2026 event, NSWMSC also proudly congratulated Dr Christopher Farag, recipient of the AMA (NSW)/NSWMSC Medical Student of the Year Award, in recognition of his tremendous contributions to his communities throughout his medical studies.
