2020 Executive Committee
President - Alice (WSU)
My vision for 2020:
In thinking about our vision for the year, I really thought about the role and function of NSWMSC existentially. We want to strengthen our relationship with your med-socs, to better serve you as the student body. To that end, we want to do three things - to better support your med-socs, individually or collectively. We wanted to increase inter-medsoc collaboration, and finally engender a sense of community for the medical students within the two states that we represent. Please let us know how we can do better!
Hobby: Getting too competitive during board game nights

Events Directors - James (UNSW) & Ruchira (USYD)
Our vision for 2020:
Our vision for 2020 is to throw the most enjoyable, inclusive and interesting events possible for each and every medical student to enjoy. From getting classy at the Cocktail night to learning about many wonderful Journeys in Medicine, we want to engage medical students from all the medical schools we represent. Hopefully, we can create an environment for collaboration and the formation of new relationships between students from different schools in a great environment - and have lots of fun too!
Fun Facts: James’ favourite food is lettuce and Ruchira is a secret One Directioner, and has been since 2011

Advocacy Officer – Neila (UNSW)
Publications Officer – Saira (WSU)
My vision for 2020:
My vision for 2020 is to build a strong social media presence for NSWMSC, and to provide relevant content for our members through regular publications. I hope that this will allow our members to best access opportunities, events and initiatives available to them. By having a strong digital and print presence, I also hope that we can spread the word about the work NSWMSC does to support its members!

Treasurer – Claudia (ANU)
My vision for 2020:
Never one to shy away from a colour-coded excel spreadsheet, I’m excited to bring my experience in budgeting and accounting to the NSWMSC in 2020. I hope to set achievable goals around academic and social events, and sustain the financial longevity of our operations. I’ll always be here to support the financial knowledge of our executive and answer their many many burning monetary questions. Furthermore as a representative from ANU I’m ready to link up NSWMSC members from Lake Burley Griffin to Bondi.
Fun fact: a guided tour of the Mint never fails as a hit with visitors to Canberra

Sponsorship Officer – Alex (USYD)
My vision for 2020:
My 2020 vision (get it) is to work with sponsors to find key synergies between NSWMSC’s unique value proposition and sponsor’s objectives. NSWMSC has untapped potential and I’m super excited to help realise it with the help of inspiring organisations to create better experiences for medical students.
Fun fact: I love nasi lemak.

International Students Officer – Alyssa (UON)
My vision for 2020:
This year I hope to build a stronger international student network amongst the NSW universities, and build a network where students would want to contribute (such as our mentorship program). To help connect international students from a school-based network to a state-wide network. To be a bridge and advocate for students about policies, pathways, and education information.
I also hope to develop a guidebook that would help aid our final year international graduates on applying for internships and visas.
Hobbies: Photography + hiking + dancing + markets → Hit me up and I’ll be there
