Dr Vyom Sharma - Keynote Speaker We promised you a magical day, and we are here to deliver.
Dr. Vyom Sharma, doctor by day and expert magician by night, is well known in the entertainment industry, performing at the Adelaide Fringe, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. His performances not only have incredible illusions which will leave you wide-eyed, but are interspersed with storytelling and humour. The three-time winner at the Australian Society of Magicians Championship believes that the best advice to budding magicians is to “perform more, make mistakes and keep trying” – qualities that are also pertinent to future medical practitioners. Get ready to be amazed by Dr. Sharma’s extraordinary magic, be inspired by his ability to manage two successful careers and learn some magic on the way… Dr Tessa Kennedy - Panel: Challenges to becoming a good leader Tessa is a Paediatric Registrar at the
Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick and Conjoint Associate Lecturer for
UNSW. She is an active member of the AMA NSW Doctors in Training
Committee as has represented the group at several AMA events including a

Professor Mohamed Khadra - Keynote Speaker
As an urologist and author, Khadra wields both a scalpel and a pen with ease. Khadra prosperous career is reflected in the multitude of roles he has held as Chair of Surgery at the Australian National University, Pro-vice Chancellor for Health, Design and Science at the University of Canberra, Professor of Surgery at Sydney University and Head of the School of Rural Health for the University of NSW. In addition to this, Khadra has penned several books including “The Patient,” and “Honour, Duty, Courage,” as well as a play about end-of-life decisions, “At any cost?”

Dr Amy Ho - Leadership in General Practice Amy is currently working at a GP and a practice owner at St. Leonards. For her, being a GP is like having a cup of tea with friends, only being paid for it! She is passionate about her work and loves connecting with people. She likes to talk as well as listen and thus fell into the right profession for her as my patients always have such interesting stories to tell.
Amy is actively involved in the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at the RACGP. She also volunteers at Lou's place which is a drop in the centre of Kings Cross for underprivileged women once a fortnight. Amy Ho is also Doctors health advisory service (DHAS) which is a volunteer organisation that concentrates on the wellbeing of medical professionals. When she’s not keeping busy doing all of the above, her passion is to travel, eat out and line dancing. James Lawler - Panel: Managing Conflict in Medicine James is a medical student doing research in his penultimate year at the University of Newcastle.
In 2015, he is President of the Australian Medical Students' Association, having previously held the role of Global Health Officer on AMSA's National Executive. |
