The first NSW Medical Students' Council meeting for 2009 will take place on Saturday March 7, 12pm. Come along to join in on discussions over our plans for the year, including our upcoming academic and social events, have your say on the current issues facing NSW medical students and socialise with students from other universities.

Where? Level 6 conference room, AMA House, 69 Christie St, St Leonards.

  • National registration a reality as WA signs up
    Australia will finally have a national medical registration system next month as WA joins the other states and territories in the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme, the Medical Board of Australia has announced.
  • 65% Pap screen target for PIP payment
    Practices will have to screen 65% of eligible women for cervical cancer from August 2011 to qualify for the $3 PIP payment, up from the current 50% target, Medicare has announced.
  • Call to ban LABA single inhalers for asthma
    Long acting bronchodilators should be banned for use in asthma as single inhaler products because of the increased mortality risk, according to an article in the Lancet.
