The Medical Student Tsunami - Do you have a future?

E-mail Print PDF

This year, we entered the start of the influx of medical students, often referred to as the "Medical Student Tsunami". It's a national concern, and is particularly pertinent to NSW medical students considering that we have 6 medical schools in one state.  The number of students have almost doubled in the past decade and currently, there is no guarantee that everyone will receive an internship.

To address this pressing issue, the NSWMSC is holding a forum with a panel of representatives from IMET, AMSA, AMA(NSW), a Immigration Lawyer and Deans from NSW medical schools, who will discuss the issues surrounding availability of internship places.

So if you are a current medical student, whether local, international, interstate or rural, this is an issue that will affect you so come and learn about what your chances of gaining an internship is, but more importantly, ask questions to those in the know!

E-mail Print PDF

The time has come once more for the epic battle of the medical schools. The annual NSWMSC Sports Day (aka Medlympics) is back!! Pitting 6 medical schools against each other, it will be an awesome day full of drama, emotion, losers and winners.

To ensure that you don't attend a loser university, represent your medical school in mixed touch, mixed soccer, mixed netball, and tug-of-war!!! Cheer on your mates and outyell, outwit and outplay all those other schools.

Be there!
