March 2015


7-8 March: 3rd International Tick Borne Diseases Conference
The 3rd International Tick- Borne Diseases Conference (TBD15), will be held on weekend 7-8 March 2015 at the Charles Perkins Centre, The University of Sydney.  NSWMSC & Karl McManus Foundation are offering student scholarships, worth $450 each.

14-15 March: iDEA15
The annual conference of Doctors for the Environment Australia discussing the human health impacts of our environment. Organised by medical students.

23 March: SUSS Academic Surgery Seminar
Hosted by the new RPA Institute of Academic Surgery, this seminar will introduce medical students to surgical research at RPA and discuss research opportunities for students. Students from all clinical schools and medical schools are welcome to consider research at the new institute and this session is not for RPA students only.

April 2015

17-19 April: Medicine Management and the Millennium (Shoal Bay)
A collaboration between the Health Education and Training Institute and Hunter New England Health’s Centre for Medical Professional Development, this unique highly interactive event offers doctors professional development in areas including Global health, Finance management, Designing our healthcare systems, Having difficult conversations with senior medical colleagues.

22-24 April: Future of General Practice Conference
The Future of General Practice Conference 2015 (#fgp15) will bring together medical students, prevocational doctors and registrars from around Australia to deliver an exceptional academic program focusing on the themes of innovation, leadership and the future of Australian healthcare. 24 April: MABEL Research Forum (Melbourne)
The Forum will be a discussion of medical workforce policy issues and research using the MABEL data from the Medicine in Australia: Balancing Employment and Life longitudinal survey of doctors in a form that is accessible to academics, policymakers and other stakeholders.

2015 NSW Rural Health & Research Congress (Armidale)

Organised by the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), Australian Rural Health Research Collaboration, Hunter New England Local Health District and NSW Health, this year’s event focuses on the theme "Rural Health  – building connections".

It will bring together health staff from across the state to present and attend stimulating, up-to-the minute presentations on a diverse range of rural health topics and research.

20 November: The Fourth Annual Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Symposium
For the first time, the CPMCC Symposium will feature a poster session to showcase the research being conducted across the Sydney West Cancer Network and the Sydney West Translational Cancer Research Centre. Abstract submissions are invited for both poster and oral presentations.
