Celebrating Brilliant Minds & Bright Ideas impacting patient care in hospitals

The Brilliant Conference combines inspiring presentations, challenging discussion, brilliant case studies and a bright ideas trade showcase.

In addition to a line up of expert speakers covering every angle of hospital innovation, The Brilliant Conference will host the launch of two Australian healthcare innovations.

Mr Marcus Dawe, Founder and CEO of Australian healthtech start up Health-Innovate will launch the platform at the conference and share insight from the start up journey. The second launch is for BesRehab’s Exoflex™Hand Therapy & Assessment Device.

The Brilliant Conference will host twelve speakers from Australia and New Zealand, including start up CEOs, IP experts, investment strategy specialists, research scientists, surgeons and IP law experts.


Learn how hospitals and the industry are working together

Dr Peter Kambouris,CSIRO Digital Productivity & Services Flagship QLD Centre for Advanced Technology, will discuss tactics for collaborating with hospitals on e-health projects and Drs Russell Carrington and Christine Davis from the Hospital Intellectual Property Group, will outline some successful industry partnerships across several health districts.

Catch up on the latest healthcare innovations

Dr Paul Smith, Orthopedic Surgeon at ACT Health will share the journey of developing a Fracture Management Database System for making surgery more effective and Mr Neel Gobin & Dr Roxanne Chenn will share their findings from a project focused on training better clinicians and innovating to improve healthcare.

Get business insight from IP experts

Spruson & Ferguson Principal Philip Heuzenroeder will debunk commonly held misconceptions about IP protection and identify common pitfalls when protecting your IP and ways to avoid them.

Hospital IP Group Chairman, Dr Deborah Kuchler will outline the risks in IP Commercialisation and how some are predictable whilst others are not.

Jacqueline Yee, Head of Investment Strategy at iQX will share insights from commercialising IP through early stage venture capital.

Hear from the CEOs of healthcare start ups

Dr Nick Cerneaz, CEO of My Healthtest Pty Ltd will share insights from the tech startup journey and Marcus Dawe, CEO of Health-Innovate Pty Ltd, will launch the new operational online platform at the conference and share his experience from the health startup journey.
